John Brown of Haddington, a Seceder in Scotland, produced a superb Systematic Theology and also wrote a wonderful brief commentary on each of the Psalms. Brown also published a "Self-interpreting Bible" which included extensive commentary and Scripture cross-references. The cross-references of Brown were the basis for the majority of those found in the excellent TBS Westminster Reference Bible.
